One of the things I like about this maxi skirt is its elegance. It’s a style that’s been around for some years now and still creating waves of fashion relevance. I love those kinds of styles!
Sometime last summer, I decided to make one, first for my daughter (a short version), and recently made one for myself too 🙂
I love how fashionable these skirts are, and the fact that I can wear them year round – summer or winter.
One of my favorite features of this skirt is the in-seam pockets; and of course, the belt too 🙂
I also love the versatility of these skirts – you can make it as a short skirt (like I did for my daughter), or make it a full flowing skirt (like I did for myself).
Oh! Did I mention this is so easy to make? Even a beginner can make this! Just follow the detailed instructions in our video.
For this project you’ll need:
Fabric, fusible interfacing, scissors, fuller, tape measure, and a fabric marker (chalk).
Measurements needed are waist and skirt length.
Cutting the pockets is pretty simple once you understand the concepts (which are well explained in our tutorial below).
The front of this skirt has a flat waist, and the back has elastic waist…but not to worry, we walk you through in our video tutorial.
