“SEW COOL” SEWING SUMMER CAMPS – Ages 8+

Learn to Sew a Gathered Skirt

LEARN TO SEW BEGINNER CLASS 1

Make your own skirt!

Join us for some fun sewing class in one of our “Fun 2 Sew” Workshops. This is a beginner class and no experience needed.

Students will learn:

  • about sewing machines, and how to drive a sewing machine
  • Make simple straight stitches necessary to complete this project
  • Learn to take body measurements, including yours.
  • Learn to make an elastic waist gathered skirt without using patterns (Freehand Fashion)
  • All supplies included!!! BONUS – Make your skirt with FREE African Print Fabric (up to 2 yards of fabric). Fabric may differ from the photo, but will be vibrant and beautiful!!!
  • Open to the public.

Participants in this class will have an introduction to the sewing machine. Learn parts of the sewing machine, how to thread the machine, types of stitches and more! You will also work on sewing your very own drawstring bag. No experience required! Presented by Learn to Sew Academy. Poplar Creek Library cardholders only.
